You can, but it’s important to note that there are two versions of wood flooring, and each has different requirements, making one type somewhat less complicated to install than the other.

Engineered hardwood vs. solid
Engineered wood floors can easily be installed over concrete or any subfloor as long as it's clean, dry, and level.
On the surface, these floors look solid with beautiful oak, maple, walnut, or hickory surfaces—undertones, knots, swirls, and everything we love about wood floors. The construction, however, is different, causing engineered to be more stable and better able to handle water.
While solid is one thickness throughout, engineered is composed of at least three (preferably more) layers of genuine wood combined with resin and placed in a crosswise position, but, like solid, they, too, can be refinished and add value to a property.

If you still insist on installing solid hardwood over concrete
The installer will affix a plywood board over the concrete. They will also need to ensure the concrete is dry, that the room is not prone to leaks or floods, and take moisture readings. One of the biggest concerns, besides moisture, is that the plywood board will create height issues that will affect the opening and closing doors.
